Project Manager (Parent Education) in the Office of the Vice-President (Development and External Relations) (Appointment up to 31 August 2024) [Ref. D/R/156/03]

City University of Hong Kong is one of the co-creators of CoolThink@JC, an inter-institutional project which was first launched in 2016, with the aim of fostering the sustainable development of computational thinking education in Hong Kong.

The University is seeking high caliber talents to join the project team.  Reporting to the Vice-President (Development and External Relations), the team will support the coordination and implementation of effective parent education workshops and quality delivery of co-teaching support to primary schools.

Duties

  1. Oversee the planning and coordination of workshop schedules and manpower deployment;
  2. Conduct parent education workshops;
  3. Liaise with funder, schools and NGOs, to help develop workshop opportunities;
  4. Coordinate with the parent education team to ensure smooth implementation and quality of the parent education workshops, as well as delivery of target outcomes;
  5. Manage and update parent education web and apps;
  6. Manage a pool of part-time student helpers who serve as teaching assistants, and coordinate related recruitment, training and performance appraisal;
  7. Plan and organise project-related publicity and outreach activities; and
  8. Serve as Secretary on committees/working groups/teams.

Working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays, and travelling between different workplaces will be required.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience preferably in education and related fields.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (with high proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua); being self-motivated with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands through analytical and problem solving capabilities; good organisational skills with multitasking abilities; excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation), interpersonal and teamwork skills are required.  Knowledge of and experience in IT education and teaching, as well as web and apps management would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service
Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
