Job Description Summary

Responsible for the planning, management, delivery, and continuous improvement of the IT services delivered to Meiyume’s team members globally. Ensuring effective incident management and disaster recovery plans are in place, maintained and regularly tested with each of the appropriate business units. Effective planning and management of the IT operations team associated service providers and financial budgets and processes such as ensuring Service Level Agreement targets are in place, in line with Meiyume’s business needs.

Cloud architecture is constantly reviewed to ensure it meets business needs regards to recovery time (RTO) and recovery point (RPO) objectives. Ensuring service providers are running a Network Operations Centre (NOC), Security Operations Centre (SOC) and application monitoring centre that continuously proactively monitors Meiyume’s key services. Contribute to the overall planning and delivery of the IT department goals and objectives.

Maintain positive relationships with all members across internal and external parties by building trust and leading by example. In addition, by being part of the IT leadership team, the person should be proactive to identify latest technology trends, promote best work practices, drive business solutions and process system improvements.

Key Results / Accountabilities:  ​

  • People Management: Lead a knowledgeable team to ensure the continuous operations and continuous enhancement of cloud services, service management, network performance, disaster recovery plans, data recovery, cyber security operations closely partnering with internal and external service providers.
  • Thought Leadership: Keeping abreast of the latest technologies especially in the areas of public cloud and workplace productivity that can really assist the organisation automating processes with a wider adoption of the Microsoft productivity suite of cloud tools.
  • Roadmap and Budget: Plan and coordinate spending and investments by creating an IT operations roadmap that delivers on business value through productivity enhancements.   Responsibility for the budget planning process for both the human resources of the IT Operations team and associated finances, both opex and capex for the team. 
  • Cloud Architecture: Ensure architecture documentation is created and maintained to understand dependencies between Meiyume’s multi cloud environment whilst ensuring it meets appropriate personal data protection laws in the countries we operate. 
  • Interfaces / Integration management: Responsible for ensuring the interface / integration between systems is smooth, documented, under monitoring. Provide technical support and recommendation to the project team whenever there is a new interface/integration requested. 
  • Single Sign On:Evaluate and roadmap Meiyume’s applications globally to have a clear roadmap for true single sign on with Azure Active Directory where possible
  • Device Refresh: Coordinate the annual device refresh project globally whilst maintaining a minimum number of devices in buffer stocks for new employees.
  • Cyber Security Operations: Ensure Meiyume’s server and PC environment globally is continuously patched for vendor feature updates, security patches and vulnerabilities.
  • Strategic and Operational Alignment:Shape and communicate the IT Service Management strategy by working closely with the various business teams based on IT Service Management (ITSM) international best practice within an ITIL framework. 
  • Service Level Agreements: Monitor and review service level agreements (SLAs) adherence of responsible teams and service providers by working closely with the business, so that the IT service management support services (internal or external) are provided in line with business expectations. 
  • Disaster Recovery Process: Responsible for ensuring disaster recovery processes are in place and regularly tested for defined key systems in line with business requirements that can ensure business continuity for numerous unplanned disasters, both IT related and otherwise.  This includes ensuring Meiyume’s cloud architecture is designed and validated to meet disaster recovery targets. 
  • Incident Management and Escalation Policies: Responsible for the monitoring, co-ordination, and continual service improvement of the IT services and desktop support service to ensure it meets business needs including the fine tuning of Meiyume’s critical IT incident on-call processes.  Monitor and finetune the IT incident management and IT services restoration mechanisms. 
  • Service Analytics: Develop and analyse IT call and incident trends proactively for continuous service improvement via regular communication with critical stakeholders to plan, review and improve the IT services, processes, and systems. 
  • Service Provider Strategy: Communicate with internal and external service providers to renew IT contracts, purchase hardware and software as required, negotiate service levels and prices to meet budgets ensuring Meiyume obtains the best return on investment (ROI). 
  • Retain and Attract Talent: Maintain and develop individual and team training plans to continually improve technical knowledge through attending conferences, formal training, self-reading, hands-on learning, subscribing to technical blogs etc. to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the IT team.  Recruit, train and motivate team members to the skill and caliber necessary to meet the present and future needs of the fast-changing business and technology environment. 
  • Project Management: Develop and manage various projects to maintain and improve team member productivity and satisfaction related to the role in an agile or waterfall manner.

Qualification & Experience and Competencies:

Education and Experience (MUST HAVE)

  • 5+ years of experience in managing public cloud environments.
  • 10+ years of experience in overall IT management including service management focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team and independently.
  • University (or college diploma) graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant discipline.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Able to adopt a flexible working hour arrangement to work with team members located in different time zones.
  • Interested in and able to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Working experience of Windows and Linux PC and server operating systems, technical support including hardware, software, and networking.
  • Familiar with managing service providers, external vendors, IT support operations, and able to communicate with users across all levels.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, Putonghua/Mandarin, French, Thai or Indonesian Bahasa speaking and writing ability is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Server, Exchange, MS SQL Server and etc.
  • A strong team and relationship builder with excellent communication skills at all levels with particular emphasis on maintaining a close relationship with the senior leadership management.
  • Effectively lead people through positive synergy and collective collaboration.
  • Able to proactively understand the market trends of technology innovation and solution.
  • Be bold to drive creatively and innovation to support the company’s direction.
  • Demonstrates a strong awareness of the uses of IT within the industry sector and specifically within competitive or associated organisations operating in the same market.

Preferred Criteria (NICE TO HAVE)

  • ITIL, ITSM, COBIT and/or Agile certifications highly regarded.
  • Track record in Office 365 migration would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in leading a team with strong experience in IT Service management and production support process.
  • Holder of Microsoft and/or Linux certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of EDI, middleware tools (e.g., Dell Boomi, managed file transfer) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in infrastructure design and cloud migration is a big plus.
  • Track record in Office 365 migration would be an advantage including knowledge of Microsoft’s entire cloud suite including Office, Teams, Power Automate, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Certified PM (PMP) and/or Agile Scrum Master.
  • ISO27001 experience highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of Gartner’s run, grow and transform model.
  • Experienced in manufacturing or B2B industry is an absolute advantage.

Economic Dimensions:

  • Create 3-year financial plan for IT Operations specific opex and capex costs.
  • Forecast quarterly upcoming spend for IT Operations vendors and internal costs.
  • Categorise costs for IT Operations against Gartner’s run, grown and transform model.
  • Forecast people spend across employees and consultants for IT operations.
