Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Employment Scheme 
  • As a key player in GBA, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited is participating in the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme (“the Scheme”), launched  by the HK Government, to encourage and support young people to work and pursue their careers in the Mainland cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
  • The Scheme will offer a 18-month full-time opportunity to recent graduates and allow them to understand the latest developments of both Hong Kong and those cities and leverage the opportunities for career advancement in the GBA.  
  • Support the GBA CEO Office to formulate and execute the GBA strategy by collaborating and coordinating with the GBAMT and the related business and functions. The role is expected to play a leading role in business management and development tasks, such as market research and analysis, establishing metrics to measure the success of the strategy, and project management.  
To support the GBA CEO Office to:
  • Formulate and execute the GBA strategy by collaborating and coordinating with the GBAMT and the related business and functions.
  • establishing metrics to measure the success of the strategy, and project management.
  • To support the GBA CEO office on business development & management tasks, such as:
  • Conduct market research and analysis on banking industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Provide project support to the Bank’s GBA business proposition across various business segments
  • Prepare presentation materials and reports for meetings and circulation to stakeholders

  • Understand, acknowledge and comply with the requirements on individual accountabilities and responsibilities of the job set out in applicable local laws and regulations as well as SCB internal policies
  • Effectively ensure and intensify internal controls by keeping abreast with developments of applicable local laws and regulations on accountabilities
  • Perform job duties with diligence, contribute to efforts as an individual or as a team member so as to avoid any actual or potential legal sanctions, regulatory penalties, material financial loss, or adverse reputational impact on the Bank 
  • Be responsible for failure to follow relevant rules and processes, failure to properly perform the responsibilities, and implement corrections
  • Cooperate with any investigations or reviews on regulatory failure such as accountability review
  • Properly perform the duties on management and ensure the effectiveness of internal control 
  • Be responsible for regulatory failure or risks arising from or in connection of the event over which the employee has the duties of management and/or leadership 
  • Be responsible for significant losses due to failure of effectiveness of internal control 
Our Ideal Candidate 
  • Students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in from 2021 to 2023 from local/overseas universities. 
  • Knowledge and experience in GBA preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes. 
  • Relationship building & influencing – able to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter with ability to manage a diverse range of tasks 
  • Passion for wealth management
  • HK residents who have the legal right to work on a permanent basis in Hong Kong. 
  • The Bank does not sponsor work permits for the purposes of programmes. 
  • This role will be based in Guangzhou and/or Shenzhen.
